Here I am painting on a wonderful sealing product. I need 2 or 3 coats of marine sealer depending on how dry the area I am sealing is. Some of the wood on this vessel is very thirsty! After the sealing phase is done, I will apply a shiny high gloss marine finish (no sanding needed) of 2-3 coats! So far, I love waterlox products, we have dock neighbors doing 15 coats and needing to sand between each coat! I can’t imagine a 50′ sailboat with teak toerails and doing that many coats. I can see results immediately and that feels so great!

First you seal, then you add the shiny coat!
